When we’re sleeping, our eyes are opened
“Absolutely outstanding. I teach and attend many seminars, have extremely high expectations of speakers and am very critical of programs which are not up to my standards. This one absolutely ranks in the top 5 seminars I have ever attended in 35 years, including international conferences.” B.M., Madison, WI
Dr. Bernard's calling to his profession came from a dream of his own. He’s been a clinician, guest lecturer, seminar leader and media expert on the topic for twenty-five years. What Dreams Say About The Nature of God
The Western God-Image has undergone a series of evolutionary phases and transformations. According to my dreams and those of many dream seminar attendees a new God-Image is appearing in dreams.
Men and women scour the globe to find God.. Everywhere, people hunger for a personal experience of God. Sadly few are lucky enough to learn that the living God is right inside of them.
As a result of C.G. Jung’s work, how God is portrayed in human consciousness is a living activity that progresses, matures and evolves.
The development of the God-Image is an unfolding process and should not be confused with the term God. To describe how humans perceive God asserts nothing about the nature of God’s existence. Historically, there are several major stages in the evolution of how people perceive God: Animism, Matriarchy, Polytheism, Tribal Monotheism, Universal Monotheism and the final stage I call the “God Within Us.” Human perception of God has changed throughout the centuries.
Demonstrating the power of the dreaming mind to present the future God-Image, C.G. Jung came to me in a dream and told me who God was. It was nothing I had ever read (on the advice of a Jungian analyst, I contacted the librarian at the San Francisco Jung Library who had an extensive knowledge of Jung’s writings. She told me he never wrote that but it was probably something he believed!). Several dream seminar participants have also shared dreams, which indicate how humans may perceive God in the future.
Dreams not only look back they look forward also and anticipate what the dreamer’s future growth may be. Jung did not mean that dreams predict the future but suggested what possibilities the future may hold, something like a plan roughed out in advance. Basically what Jung emphasized about dreams was their attempt to unite consciousness and the unconscious in a healthy harmonious way.
Jung also stated that dreams could have a collective meaning, which can be true for the dreamer but also relate to others as well. Certainly a search for God is.
Many novel ideas about the new God-Image and why consciousness is evolving in this direction will be presented as well as many dreams from his dream seminars along with their paintings that will contribute to a better understanding of the New God-Image. This presentation will demonstrate the power of the dreaming mind to recognize how humans will perceive God in the future.
OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify and explain the 6 evolutionary levels of how humans have perceived God.
2. Explain and critique the New God-Image.
3. List three attributes of a spiritual dream.
